Coach Evaluation (St. Marys Minor Hockey)

PrintCoach Evaluation
High quality coaching is critical to the ongoing success of minor hockey. Without qualified, skilled, motivational, and respected non-parent and parent coaches, our game could not be played. St. Marys Minor Hockey follows a coach application and selection process that is designed to recruit and select the highest quality coaching possible for each hockey level.

It is important for players and parents/guardians to evaluate coaches and coaching generally as this is the feedback loop required to know if we are securing the highest quality coaching. Constructive feedback is critical for the development of our individual coaches and for ongoing efforts to strengthen our minor hockey program.

Evaluations are made up of ratings and comments. It is important to note that only the ratings (i.e. agree/neutral/disagree) are provided to the coaches. Individual comments are confidential to the SMMHA Coaches Committee only and are NOT shared with the coach. Comments help understand the context behind the ratings and experiences with that coach.

The Coach Evaluation Form will be available in January/February each season. Feedback is used to conduct coach exit interviews, hiring of new coaches for new season, and hockey program design changes for the upcoming season.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this important feedback on your coach and coaching.
