Important: 2024/25 Season Start-Up Information
The St. Marys Minor Hockey 2024/25 season starts on Tuesday, September 3rd. Here is information to help each age group. Please refer to the SMMHA website and main calendar for information and ice times.
All "A" Rep OMHA boys teams (except U18A, U9MD) selected in the spring will begin practices according to their team schedule.
All "B and C" OWHA girls teams (except U9C) selected/formed in the spring will begin practices according to their team schedule.
All Local League (LL) boys teams (except U15) will be formed through scheduled sorting skates. Please attend your age group sorting skate ice time. Here are the sorting skate ice times:
- U9LL September 16 at 4:15pm.
- U11LL September 7 at 4:00pm.
- U13LL September 7 at 5:00pm.
Initiation Teams:
U5 will start September 15 at 12:45pm.
U7 will start September 13. Players with last name beginning with A-M will be at 4:45pm and last name beginning with N-Z at 5:45pm. The ice times on September 13 and 15 will be sorting skates and will be used to organize and form the 6 U7 teams for the season.
OMHA Team Tryouts:
U9MD will consist of preseason skates and tryouts. Players must register (see Tryout page) to try out for the U9MD team. Players registered for tryouts can attend one or more of the optional preseason skates scheduled between September 3-8. If you are not registered for tryouts, you do not attend preseason skates. Tryouts for U9MD begin September 9 at 6:00pm.
U18A will consist of preseason skates and tryouts. Players must register (see Tryout page) to try out for the U18A team. Players registered for tryouts can attend one or more of the optional preseason skates scheduled between September 3-7. If you are not registered for tryouts, you do not attend preseason skates. Tryouts for the U18A team begin September 9 at 8:00pm.
U18BB will start on September 18 at 8:45pm. Players who were not selected for the U16A, U18A teams and players who decided not to attend A team tryouts will form the U18BB team. Tryouts are not scheduled for this team but SMMHA reserves the right to conduct tryouts/evaluations as might be required to finalize the team based on player numbers.
OWHA Team Tryouts:
U9C will consist of preseason skates and tryouts. Players must register (see Tryout page) to try out for the U9C team. Players registered for tryouts can attend one or more of the optional preseason skates scheduled between September 4-8. If you are not registered for tryouts, you do not attend preseason skates. Tryouts for the U9C team begin September 9 at 5:00pm.
Once you know which team you will play for this season, it is a good idea to SUBSCRIBE to your Team Calendar to remain informed on ice times moving forward. You can do this by using the Team Finder on the main page to locate your team, click on team calendar, click on Subscribe (right side) and follow the instructions.
