Welcome to the 2023-24 Hockey Season
Welcome to the 2023-24 hockey season! Here are a few highlights on the upcoming season.

First, I want to thank all the volunteers putting in time to prepare for the upcoming season.

Rock Teams

Rock U9 to U18 boys teams will be organized as: first team single age cohort A, second team double age cohort C (at select ages), with U9 as MD all playing in the Shamrock League. Local League (LL) teams will be double age cohort playing in the Lambton-Middlesex LL.

Rock U9 to U18 girls teams will be organized as two age cohorts B, C, HL playing in the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League (WOGHL).

Our little Rock players in U5 and U7 will be organized in-house by SMMHA.

Once a team is formed, the coach will host a team parent meeting to review expectations for the team, schedule, tournaments, assign parent roles, etc.

Getting Back on the Ice

The PRC will be operating a single ice pad between Sept 5-10 with the second pad coming online Sept 11. Our ice schedules will be varied for the first few weeks until all Prep Skates and Tryouts are done and regular season games begin in early October. Please refer to the website calendar regularly for ice times and changes.

Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) requires players to have access to Prep Skates prior to tryouts/evaluations. Prep skates do not have a fee, are optional, and open to ages where September tryouts/evaluations are scheduled.

Tryouts/evaluations are scheduled between September 11-17 for boys U9MD, U11C, U13C, U18A and girls U9C. Tryout registration is required. Refer to the tryouts page on the website for more information.

Players playing local league will be notified by mid September of their team and first ice date/time.

To stay connected to new information, subscribe to the SMMHA website.  It's a great way to stay connected.

Enjoy the long weekend and see you at the rink!
