Dear Players, Coaches & Parents,

SMMHA would like to acknowledge the increasing cases of COVID-19  in St Marys and across the Province. At this point, there has not been any direction from HPPH or the province about restrictions for minor sports. As an association, we would like to ensure the health, safety and comfort level for all of our families at hockey.

Please continue to follow our current safety measures and we strongly suggest the following measures also be followed:
·  Arrive to the dressing room no more than 15 minutes before your ice time and leave the arena as quickly as possible afterwards (please try to avoid loitering in the lobby)
·  Keep on-ice and dressing room volunteers to a minimum to avoid overcrowding; parents helping with skates should try to do so in the hallway and stay out of the dressing room as much as possible
·  Please try to split out shared ice times in such a way that only one team is on the ice at a time
·  Don’t share water bottles
·  Wherever possible, please limit spectators (no siblings, other families members of friends)
·  Do not come to the arena if you are feeling unwell or have been told to isolate

Even with these measures in place, we recognize that families and coaches may not feel comfortable at hockey. Please know that it’s acceptable for players to opt out of games and practices between now and January 1st. Please be sure to give your coach plenty of notice if you will not be there. Further, coaches will have the full support of SMMHA if they don’t feel comfortable being on the ice and choose to cancel ice time if there are insufficient players and/or coaches available. Please note that only qualified coaches on the team roster are allowed to run practices and/or be on the bench in a coaching role

*Please also note that effective January 4, the PRC will only accept a QR code for proof of vaccination upon entry.
