Return to Hockey Update #3 - TRYOUTS
It's been great to see all our hockey players and families back at the rink! This update will be on the upcoming Rep team tryouts plus U9 evaluation skates.

Rep Tryouts for U11 and above will officially begin on Saturday, September 25th. Please review the tryouts webpage and the calendar for all information. Due to health and safety requirements and arena entry restrictions, SMMHA is moving to a full online system for tryout registration and payment. All players attending tryouts will be required to complete an online Tryout Registration Form and e-transfer the $60 tryout fee by 12:00pm (noon) Friday, September 24th to [email protected]. Players who do not complete the tryout registration form and e-transfer the tryout fee by this date will not be permitted to participate in the tryouts.

Please take the time to review the Tryout Policy posted under the tryouts section of the website. The policy outlines all key information about how the tryout process will work. Important to note that SMMHA will be using team pages on the website for communicating all player releases throughout the tryouts. Head Coaches will share more information on this step with players/parents during the actual tryouts.
For all players not attending Rep team tryouts, please consult the website calendar for your next ice time.
U9 Division Evaluation Skates

U9 players will participate in evaluation skates (not tryouts) and there is no fee to participate. Players wishing to participate in the evaluation skates would attend the U9 Boys BB evaluation skate ice times or the U9 Girls B evaluation skate ice times. The evaluation skates are meant to place players on a team based on their current skill development. Head Coaches, with the assistance of the Coaches Committee, will oversee the evaluation process and communicate to players/parents once completed.
Players who do not wish to participate in the evaluation skates will receive a communication notifying them of what team they are on and next scheduled ice time.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the Coaches Committee U9 Division Rep.
Health and Safety Protocols

Please take the time to review the COVID-19 Protocols as part of your responsibilities in returning to hockey. These apply to your child's participation in hockey and your attendance at the arena. These protocols are mandatory and meant to create a safe environment for return to hockey.
