ABS Tracs Bantams win Aces’ Festival Cup tourney

G&CC Atoms finalists in Bracebridge

The ABS Tracs Bantam C girls captured the Aces Festival Cup tournament here on the Nov. 15-17 weekend.
The Don Scott-coached Bantams won their first five games by shutouts. They defeated the Lambton Attack 5-0, TCDMHA (Chatsworth and District) 2-0, West Oxford Inferno 5-0 and Lambeth 5-0 in preliminary games. In the semi-finals, the Bantam Rock defeated Lambeth again, 3-0.
In the championship final, regulation time ended with the score deadlocked 1-1 between St. Marys and the Grey Highlands Shooting Stars. The Rock then won in a shootout.
Members of the ABS Bantam ‘C’ girls are: Ally Wheal, Saige Mann, Hailey Scott, Sierra Pitts, Abbie Boyd, Natalie Johnston, Charlotte Clinton, Kendra Robertson, Ava Ansley, Avery Jones, Anna Standeaven, Belle Houle, Rachel Horan, and goalies Keira Akey and Gracie Hillman.The bench staff is comprised of head coach Don Scott, assistant coach Dale Johnston and trainers Jodi Hillman and Jenn Hutton.

G&CC Atoms finalists in Bracebridge

The Golf and Country Club ‘BB’ Atoms competed in the Matt Kelly Memorial tournament in Bracebridge on the same weekend.
All teams were guaranteed four games.
Dan Murrell’s Atoms went undefeated the entire tournament . . . until the final game. The Rock defeated Petrolia Oilers 3-2, South Muskoka Bears 3-1, West Grey Warriors 4-3 and Hanover Falcons 3-2 in preliminary action.
In the championship final, the Atom Rock lost 7-4 to the Erin Hillsburgh Devils.
