
Annual AE Tournament Begins Thursday Oct 19

Thirty-two teams will be competing in the annual
A-E tourney this weekend.
St. Marys Minor Hockey Association hosts its annual Additional-Entry (A-E) tournament this coming weekend, Oct. 19-22.
It all begins Thursday night with one Peewee game.
The action starts up again Friday morning at 7 o’clock, and runs right through to late Sunday afternoon.
Games will be held on both Pyramid Rec. Centre pads – Blue and Rock.
There
are three teams in Novice, six in Atom, 11 in Peewee, six in Bantam and
six in Midget. The SMMHA has teams in all divisions except Midget.
All the championship games are Sunday, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Dan Murrell’s Stonetown Foodland squad will compete against Collingwood and South Huron in the Novice division.
St. Marys opens against the Sabres from South Huron on Friday at 8:15 a.m.
The Dunny’s Source for Sports Atoms are playing Huntsville, Collingwood and Ayr in round-robin play. Other teams in the six-team division are Mitchell and Ilderton.
Sean Porter and company open against Huntsville Friday morning at 7 o’clock.
The Peewee division is the biggest grouping.
Greg Smale’s Home Building Centre Peewees are in Pool ‘A’ with Huntsville, Listowel, Wallaceburg and BCH.
The six teams in the ‘B’ pool are: Elmvale, Erie Northshore, Ilderton, Minto, Strathroy and Mitchell.
The Peewee Rock plays four games, including their opening game on Thursday against Minto at 8:15 p.m.
Brent Rae and his Frayne Custom Cabinets Bantams open their weekend Friday at 11:45 a.m. against Ayr.
Other teams in the Bantam division are Mt. Brydges, Penetang, Mitchell and Paris.
The six teams in the Midget grouping are Fort Erie, New Hamburg, Penetang, Huntsville, North Durham and Strathroy.
