St.Marys Minor Hockey is asking all families to review the renewed "24 Hour Rule" policy, and sign a form indicating their intention to abide by this policy during initial team meetings this season.
For those unfamiliar with the policy, or those who would like to review the full policy, it can be found via
this link or by following the links using the top menu bar -About Us - Mission - 24 Hr Rule Policy.
Essentially, the policy asks that all parents, players, and other community members respect a 24 hour buffer time between the time of an incident, and the time that they contact coaching staff, other parents, or SMMHA executive members. By allowing for time to pass, most situations or disputes often resolve themselves. After 24 hours, those that are not resolved, can be addressed in a more calm and productive manner.
A more detailed outline of the policy, and the rationale for the implementation of the policy can be found at the link.
