Welcome to Hockey Day
Submitted By Pete Frehner on Monday, September 8, 2014
Hello everyone. Welcome to the 2014-2015 mite hockey season.

The first tyke skates will take place on Sunday Sept 14th at 9am.

The first mite skates will take place on Sunday September 14th. 2011 and 2010 birth dates will skate at 10:00. 2009 birth dates will skate at 11:00. Please be sure to bring your child to the correct time.

We have approximately 55 mites registered this year and are currently planning for having 4 teams. Having said this, we are beginning the year with a focus on skill development, having fun, and setting up a program to meet the needs of a varying level of skaters. We are not going to rush to divide up into teams. This all will be explained more on September 14th when there is a mandatory parent/prospective coaches meeting. The ice times will be run that day by minor hockey executive members so all parents/prospective coaches can meet up in the end zone while your child is on the ice. We will be sharing some general information as well as the vision for our year. Please plan to attend this meeting.

In addition, you should have already completed the online mandatory parent respect in sport program. Your child will be allowed to skate on the 14th if you have not completed it, but not after that day.

Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions. The St. Mary's Minor Hockey Website is also a great source of information www.stmarysminorhockey.ca. We are looking forward to a great mite season. See you all on the 14th.
