All SMMHA coaching staff will be participating in a mandatory Hockey Canada course to develop a greater understanding of Gender Identity and Expression in sports.

Each member of a team's bench staff will be required to complete the course before the season commences, and while a number of have already done so, those who require the course can access it by following the directions below.


All team officials will require an account in the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) in order to register for and complete the modules. Once completed, notification will be posted to the team officials' member profile in the HCR.

The first step in completing the training is to ensure all team officials have an HCR account, in order to sign up for the required clinic. Those who do not already have an HCR account can click the following link to sign up:

Once your account has been established, or for those who already have an account, please click on the link below to be directed to the Hockey Canada landing page for more information on the training and to course registration (no costs). 

Team officials once on the HCR Register for Clinics page will access the course registration by selecting 'OHF-Ontario Hockey Federation' from the left hand organization drop down menu, ignore the right hand organization drop down menu. Once you have selected 'OHF' as your organization you can find the Gender Identity and Expression course listed under the 'General' category of courses on the left hand side of the screen. Upon registering for the clinic, team officials will receive an email with instructions for completing the modules.
